As I’m sure you are aware, most Probiotic supplements are primarily based on the good bacteria found in dairy products such as yoghurts and kefir. However, considering lactose intolerance is thought to affect around 70% of people and has also been shown to be an irritant to your gut. We were excited to produce a Pre and Probiotic supplement, which delivers the same level of health benefits (if not better), but was accessible and effective to people who were against lactose and using animal based/dairy products.
To do this, we use a combination of fermented foods, teas and vegetables to deliver a hit of bio cultures that are better for you, and the planet.
Premium Probiotic Strains Include: Lactobacillus bulgaricus, lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus helveticus, streptococcus thermophilus and bifidobacterium
Plus Prebiotics: hydroxypropylmethylcelluse and maltodextrin. These two specifically selected prebiotics are used to help fertilise and enhance the 5 probiotic strains and further support the friendly bacteria in your gut.
Put Simply: A healthy gut is essential in promoting wellbeing in general, whether it be for a reduction in bloating, increased serotonin (the happy chemical), immune system support or weight loss. Our Prebiotics and Probiotics provide no less than 12 billion ‘friendly’ bacteria per serving. This helps to maintain the favourable pH balance of the intestine and thereby improving your gut-brain interaction and aid digestion.
Although prebiotics and probiotics sound very similar, they actually carry out different roles in our digestive systems. Prebiotics are a special form of dietary fibre that acts as a fertiliser for the good bacteria in your gut. Think of these as the fuel that probiotics (good bacteria) use to work and multiply. Probiotics on the other hand are live bacteria that can be found in yogurt and other fermented foods. The use of Prebiotics and Probiotics together is called microbiome therapy. You don’t need to take a Prebiotic for Probiotics to work, but taking them together will make your Probiotics more effective and provide an enhanced level of gut health and digestion support.
